Exercise for People with Diabetes

It is important for people with diabetes to be physically active because it can help control their blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels. On Thursday December 4th from 6-7:30pm the Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene will discuss safety measures, how to get started and what types of exercise to consider. Horatio Colony House Museum Holiday Open House

The Horatio Colony House Museum on Main St in Keene will be holding a Holiday Open House on Friday December 5th from 7-8:30pm and December 6th from 1-2:30pm. Silent Auction to Benefit Operation Toy Drop

In conjunction with the community tree lighting, there will be a Silent Auction to benefit Operation Toy Drop on Friday December 5th from 6-8pm at the Town Hall in Chesterfield. The Narnia Chronicles

On Friday December 5th at 1pm the Frost Free Library in Marlborough will be showing The Narnia Chronicles: Prince Caspian. Watch this new release on a big screen with friends. Popcorn will be provided. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Keene Knight Division 12 Pee Wee Cheer Squad Fundraiser

The Keene Knights Division 12 Pee Wee cheer squad took 1st place in Rhode Island at the Regional Competition on November 29th. They have earned the right to represent Keene at the National competition in Orlando Florida on December 13th. The Pee Wees are curently accepting donations to help with their travel expenses. They will be fundraising at Video Headquarters on Friday Dec 5th from 6-8pm and Saturday the 6th from 9am-noon. Christmas Bazaar
The St. Charles Parish will be holding a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday December 6th from 9-noon at the Education and Social Center in Bellows Falls. There will be activities for children as well as a cookie walk, handmade crafts, holiday decorations and free pictures with Santa!  Lunch will be served.  For more information call 802-463-3128.
22nd Annual Johnathan Daniels Holiday Craft Fair
In time for the holidays, Jonathan Daniels Elementary School will be holding their 22nd Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday December 6th from 8:30- 2pm. There will be over 50 vendors with fine handmade crafts, gifts and holiday trimmings. Enter to win one of many raffles. The 5th grade will serve up lunch, dessert and snacks. New this year is the addition of a coat check room.  Guests can deposit their coats, umbrellas and strollers for a small fee.  All proceeds from the snack bar and coat check will benefit the 5th Grade Ecology Camp. The 1st Annual Auction for Animals

The 1st Annual Auction for Animals will take place on Saturday December 6th at 6pm at the Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough. The cost is $75/person or $600/table. The event includes dinner with both silent and live auction items.  Some of the items include a one week stay at a villa in Tuscany, a South African Photo Safari, Bruins Tickets, Celtics Tickets, and a Red Sox weekend in Boston. Troy Fireman's Dance
The Troy Fire Auxiliary will be holding the Troy Fireman’s Dance on Saturday December 6th from 7pm-1am at Pelto’s Barn on Bigelow Hill Rd in Troy. Great entertainment! Keene Pops Choir Presents "We Need a Little Christmas"
The Keene Pops Choir presents "We Need a Little Christmas" on Sunday December 7th at 3pm in the Keene High School Auditorium.  The 80-member group presents a variety of songs from African to well-known carols.  Special guests include the Westmoreland School Bell Choir. The Greater Keene Pops Choir
The Greater Keep Pops Choir holds rehearsals every Monday at 7pm through December 7th at the Monadnock Covenant Church in Keene. The non-auditioned group has a membership of over 75, with ages 16-80+. They welcome people who can sing on pitch and can sing their respective part accurately. Yoga For Positive Mental Health
Positive mental health is the balance between all aspects of life – social, spiritual, emotional, and physical. Practicing yoga helps to concentrate your mind on the physical sensations and forces your mind to focus on your body and breathing in the present. Both of these outcomes contribute to the balance needed to maintain positive mental health. This series will be taught by Josephine Russell, Certified Kripula Yoga Instructor, at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene.
